When remodeling or doing a small refresh on your home, it may seem appealing to buy new furniture. Reupholstering your furniture is a great option. It will allow you to purchase a fresh and updated style while still maintaining the “good bones” of your existing furniture.

I always tell my clients there are three reasons to reupholster a piece of furniture versus buying new:

  1. It is your favorite chair because it is so comfortable. There is nothing like a perfect fit in a chair
  2. It is a family heirloom with sentimental value.
  3. You paid a good deal of money for it to begin with. If you also invest money in well-crafted reupholster work you will have added to the quality of the furniture. The result will reflect money well spent.

Before – Dad’s favorite chair with quality structure, but outdated and worn upholstery.

After – The same quality structure with updated upholstery for a sleek and clean style.
